Edwin Olson is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Michigan and the creator of the uOrc board. The uOrc board is a cost-reduced version of the Orc5 (which was a revision of the Orc4, Orc3, Orc2, Orc, and Otto). This hardware was originally designed for MASLab, which Prof. Olson created when he was a graduate student.
